 1.  (C)  Opposition lawyer Aung Thein verified news reports 
that a Rangoon court sentenced four female pro-democracy 
activists on February 15 to two years each for violating 
Article 505B of the Penal Code, disturbing public 
tranquility.  Special Branch arrested the four ) Naw Ohn 
Hla, Myint Myint San, Cho Cho Lwin, and Ma Cho ) on October 
3, 2009 after they reportedly offered alms to monks at Magwe 
monastery in Rangoon (reftel).  Lawyers for the four plan to 
appeal the verdict, according to Aung Thein. 
 
 2.  (C)  Naw Ohn Hla is a prominent National League for 
Democracy member and organizer of the Tuesday Prayer Group, a 
collection of pro-democracy activists who pray regularly for 
the release of Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners.
